Rowen Kahn is an actor, singer/songwriter and visual artist living and working in New York City after graduating from Sarah Lawrence College in 2016. He is currently recording and preparing his next project after putting out his debut album, 'Shortcut' in April, 2018. Rowen has performed at the Sidewalk Cafe in the East Village, the Dupont Underground in Washington, D.C., and he is looking forward to many more performances in the coming months, including an appearance at the renowned monthly Songwriters Circle at The Bitter End on November 5th, as well as opening for singer/songwriter and friend Noah Chenfeld at the Mercury Lounge in January.
He began recording ‘Shortcut’ after finishing an electric two-month run of a Joni Mitchell musical called Circle Game. The show took place at the celebrated Firehall Arts Centre in Rowen’s hometown, Vancouver, British Columbia. Rowen has been acting for many years and has had a number of notable roles in Film and TV; his credits include a principal role in the Superman movie Man of Steel, supporting roles in Disney Channel Original Movies like Radio Rebel and Girl vs. Monster, as well as a lead role in the Hallmark Channel Original Movie Harvest Moon, in which he sings and plays guitar.
Since returning to New York, he has appeared in several student films and plays, including Juri Golec, a new short film by writer/director Jack Sullivan; it is currently being submitted to film festivals and will soon be available to watch online. Rowen’s brother, Aidan Kahn is an actor, writer and director, and the creator of the music video for ‘Miss Too Good’ - one of the songs from Rowen’s album. They are now writing a series of short films together that will be released in the new year.
Rowen is also a visual artist and has shown his sculptures and paintings in several shows around New York.
